Advisory Committees

The Greenway Commission formally approved the formation of Advisory Committees in March 2008.

Each advisory committee makes recommendations to the Commission for consideration.  The advisory committees represent open forums for communicating ideas for the progress of the Ohio River Greenway.  All formal decisions are made by the Ohio River Greenway Development Commission.

Current Members and Tasks of the Advisory Committees

Steering Committee
Tasks – Design the agenda for Commission meetings, collect information to be presented to full Commission, and any other issues not falling under other advisory committees.
Members – Phil Hendershot, Chris Fox, Chris Gardner and Jim McCoskey

Outreach and Awareness Committee
Tasks: Oversee grants, marketing, events and fundraising.
Members: Committee is inactive as of January 2019

Programming and Activities Along the Greenway

The Ohio River Greenway Commission does not offer programming such as scheduled walks along the pathways or other activities.  However each community along the Greenway and the Falls of the Ohio State Park offer a variety of annual and special events.  See the Related Links page for parks departments and others who sponsor these activities.  If your organization would like to schedule an event on the Greenway, please contact the local community (City of New Albany, City of Jeffersonville , Town of Clarksville, http://www.fallsoftheohio.org).
